Hold your breath
longer, and safely.

Nine guided exercises, from your first calm four-count breath to full O₂ tables. Your CO₂ and O₂ tables build themselves from your own personal best.

Never practise breath-holds in or near water.

Shallow-water blackout gives no warning and kills strong, experienced swimmers. Do tables and maximum attempts lying down — never standing, never while driving. Stop at dizziness or tingling. Respira is a training tool for healthy adults, not a medical device, and nothing in it is medical advice.

How it works

Tables built from your lungs, not a forum post

Most apnea tables are copied off the internet and fit nobody — too easy to matter, or hard enough to hurt. Respira measures you once, then does the arithmetic.

1

Take the Max Test

One guided maximum hold, lying down, with the app talking you through the breathe-up. That number becomes your baseline.

2

Your tables unlock

CO₂ and O₂ tables generate from that best — and stay locked until it exists, so nobody stumbles into an advanced protocol on day one.

3

Retest, and they grow

Every new personal best regenerates the tables. The difficulty tracks you instead of standing still.

Nine exercises

From a calm four-count to genuine hypoxia

Each one has a moving visual, a voice calling every phase change, editable timings, and its own safety notes.

Beginner Zero blackout risk — do these anywhere
🟦
Box Breathing Equal inhale, hold, exhale, hold — the mental reset button.
Rectangle Breathing Longer holds than breaths — a gentle step toward apnea.
🌬️
4-7-8 Breathing Inhale 4, hold 7, exhale 8 — deep relaxation and lung stretch.
🧘
Guided Relaxation Pre-hold wind-down: slow exhales to drop your heart rate.
🫁
Lung & Diaphragm Stretch Flexibility for your breathing muscles — bigger, easier holds.
Intermediate Uncomfortable, not dangerous — when done as instructed
📈
CO₂ Table Same hold, shrinking rest — teach your brain that CO₂ is not the enemy.
🚶
Apnea Walk Hold your breath while walking — count your steps.
Advanced Lying down only · one per day · never after a CO₂ table
📉
O₂ Table Rest stays fixed, holds grow — adapt to genuinely low oxygen.
🏆
Max Breath-Hold Test One guided maximum hold. Sets the personal best everything is built from.
Inhale Hold Exhale Hold empty Every phase has its own colour, tone, voice cue and haptic

Two structured programs

A plan that survives a missed day

Programs advance by session, not by calendar date. Skip Tuesday and Tuesday is simply still waiting for you — nothing resets, nothing is lost.

🌱 Foundations

2 weeks · 5–10 min a day

Build calm and breath control from zero. Opens and closes with a Max Test so you can measure exactly what you gained. Everything in between is zero-blackout-risk breathing control.

🌊 Road to 3:00

4 weeks · already holding ~1:00

Weeks 1–2 stack CO₂ tolerance, weeks 3–4 add O₂ adaptation, with retests along the way so the tables keep pace with you. Ends with one honest attempt at three minutes.

Progress

Proof you are actually improving

Personal bests per exercise, a session history with how each one felt, a heat calendar of training days, hold-time trend charts, and streaks that count the days you showed up.
